Would you be interested if we told you there is one quick step you can take today to potentially increase Pinterest viewers, generate more engaged followers, AND get more actionable insights into the success of your Pins?

Yes? Well, here it is – claim your business website AS WELL AS  your Instagram, Etsy, and YouTube accounts on Pinterest.

Why Claim Your Instagram, Etsy, and YouTube Accounts on Pinterest?

Claiming your accounts allows you to connect other platforms where you create content to your Pinterest account. This will:

  • Allow you to see actionable analytics for this content,
  • Give you attribution on all Pins coming from your claimed account—this means your profile picture will show on all the Pins you and others save from your Instagram, Etsy, or YouTube accounts.
  • Potentially increase “monthly viewers” as Pinterest rolls in views on content saved  from your claimed accounts.

Additionally, when you save content from your claimed site, Pinterest pays special attention to the context you provide. The Boards you save your content to, along with the descriptions you add to the Boards and Pins, provide Pinterest with extra context and help the recommendation system surface your content in the most relevant searches and feeds. Now you can help Pinterest learn more about the content you save to ALL of these sites so that it may be more discoverable!

Reason #1 to Claim Your Accounts on Pinterest: More Actionable Analytics

When you save a Pin from a site you haven’t claimed, you only see stats based on actions taken on that particular Pin. For example, how many people have saved or viewed a close up of that Pin. This gives you an overview of YOUR impact on the success of this Pin on Pinterest.

When you claim your website, Instagram, Etsy, or YouTube account, you unlock the full view of your Pinterest stats.  When you save content from a site or social account you have claimed, you’ll see how that content is doing all across Pinterest.

From the Pin closeup, click “see more stats” to see the full performance, including aggregate stats for each of your Pins. Key metrics include impressions, close-ups, clicks, and saves as well as which boards your Pins are being saved to on Pinterest during the last day, week, or 30 days. Learn more about Pin stats.

This gives you valuable insights into which Pins of YOUR content is performing well on Pinterest now – this month, this week, even in the last day.

Reason #2 to Claim Your Accounts on Pinterest: Attract Engaged Followers

When you save content from a Pinterest account which has claimed a site, anyone viewing a closeup of the Pin will see that content creator’s image, Pinterest name, and a bright red “Follow” button. If someone saves YOUR content and another Pinner likes it enough to take a closer look, they may follow you. And, since they’re interested in your content, they will be likely to engage with your Pins when they appear in their feed!

When you save content from a creator who has not claimed their site on Pinterest, there is no creator image, no name, and no “Follow” button.

But now, when you claim your accounts, any time someone saves your content from Instagram, Etsy, and YouTube to Pinterest, you’ll get the attribution you deserve on every single Pin – allowing you to attract followers from Pinterest to your social accounts! And Pinners will be able to easily follow you on Pinterest. In fact, there are two ways claiming your account and gaining attribution provide for building your following:

  1. Clicks on your Pin bring a Pinner to the content on your Instagram, Etsy, or YouTube account.
  2. Clicks on your profile photo on the Pin link to your profile on that account!

It’s not hard to see how this can lead to your developing a loyal following on Pinterest AND Instagram, Etsy, and YouTube.

Claim your YouTube, Etsy, or Instagram accounts and get more Pinterest followers!

Reason #3 to Claim Your Accounts on Pinterest: Higher Monthly Viewers Stats

You know that “Monthly Viewers” number that appears on Pinterest business profiles? Higher numbers here can help Pinners secure Influencer deals and generally provide a sense of your impact on the platform.

This number is the views on every piece of content you Pin, PLUS the views of anything that anyone else has Pinned from your claimed website. Claim your Instagram, Etsy, and YouTube accounts, and that number could grow tremendously as views to that content is rolled into your “monthly viewers” stat!

Content Pinned from your claimed sites will appear on the “Activity” tab on your profile as well.

Q: Does this mean all my posts from other channels will be automatically published to Pinterest?

A: No. Only Pins you or other people save from your accounts will appear on Pinterest.

Does Claiming My Instagram, Etsy, and YouTube Channels Copy all my Posts to Pinterest?

No. You’ll need to save any content you want to share to Pinterest from those platforms. But anything that has already been saved from those channels will now (within about 48 hours of claiming) be attributed to you and will appear in your analytics and “Activity” tab on your profile.

How Do I Save my Instagram Images to Pinterest?

Visit your Instagram profile on your desktop and use your Pinterest “Save” extension to select an image to Pin now or your Tailwind extension to schedule it for later. You can also use this method to save other people’s Instagram images to Pinterest!

There’s an easier way, though. When you use Tailwind for Instagram, you can have your Instagram images post to Pinterest simultaneously! Read more about it or get started with Tailwind for Instagram now.
